How many of you actually believe left turns go first at a stoplight!?

I can't BELIEVE it, I almost got hit by some fool who did not have a green arrow and saw me getting ready to turn right, waiting for a lull in traffic. Another time I was driving straight threw. Either the lights are messed up, or this person was also trying to go left before the rest of traffic made their maneuvers because THEY almost ran into me. In driver's ed years ago, I was taught left turn goes last.

yes, he's supposed to wait for his path to be clear before he turns at a green light, unless he has a green arrow. There are so many aggressive drivers on the road, and they think they can gun it through before the other traffic can get up to speed. yeah, they would've been at fault if they did hit you.

Me too. I am surprised, however, at how the driving etiquette has changed over the years. Most people don't know who has right of way at a four way intersection. It's utterly ridiculous. On top of all of that, the laws in my state have changed to where you are expected to yield right of way to cars joining the interstate from the on ramp if you are already traveling on the interstate. Totally insane!! So, I have to drive in the right lane because the law says the left lane is for passing only and I can get a ticket for that. But, if I' have the right of way on the lane I'm in and another care on the ramp wants to come on the interstate, I have to yield my right of way to them. What next!!

Never, depends on who got to the intersection first some intersections have left turning lights allowing them to go first otherwise the car on the right always has the "right of way"

Straight through or right-turning traffic will always have the right of way unless there is a turning lane and the straight/right turning vehicles have a red signal and the left-turning vehicles have a green signal.

If a left turning vehicle hit you in the situation you described, they would be at-fault.
