I'm from missouri and got my license a week ago and they told me i can have as many relatives in the car but only one Buddy for 6 months. but also once you get you permit you have to wait 6 months before you can take your drivers test. and a certain amount of hours driving but that doesn't matter all that much as long as your good at it.

you can drive by yourself if you have your full license. Not just a permit. some states prohibit you from driving anyone who isn't an immediate relative for the first six months
