I tell my children and my grandchildren to sit in the back if they are under 12 years old if the car (or vehicle has air bags). We now own a pickup with no air bags and no back seat. Most newer vehicles with a back seat and air bags recommend no one under 12.. sit in the front seat. |

The usual age is twelve and over, but they should probably be about five feet and at least eighty pounds. the backseat is always safer though. hope i helped |

I believe you have to be 12yrs old and I think 5' tall not sure of the wt. I think it's mainly b/c of the safety issue of the air bags in vehicles nowadays. the pressure can kill small children.
Check with your state to see what the law is. NOT sure if it's by state or a nationwide thing.. My boy is a long time away from sitting up front. he's 14mos. old... |

All children younger than 13 years are safest in the back seat.

i think it varies in different states. but in CA
u godda be over 6, OR weight more then 60 pounds. if ur lil cousin doesn't reach any of these requirements just tell him "back seat buckle up bud" haha i learned that from Sesame Street xD
(if ur not from california. u could just engine search for ur states driver handbook.) |

You need to be 12 to sit in the front...I don't think the weight matters. |

WHEN YOU ARE MORE THAN 12 YEARS OLD MORE THAN 4’9” (57 INCHES) TALL MAY SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT OF THE CAR WITH AN ADULT SEATBELT. |

Children can legally sit in the front seat at any
age...
provided they are using the restraint that
is right for the child’s size and weight.
A child
is much safer in the back seat, so fill the back
seat positions first with the smaller children.
The back seat offers 35–40% more protection
for passengers. |

you need to be at least 13. the bigger kid should always be in front because they have a less chance of getting hurt than the other. or let him, and when yall get into an accident he'll die and then you can go to his funeral and yell " I TOLD YOU SO!!!" |
|

Allie

He should be thirteen or weight 100+ pounds. |

There isn't an age. I would advise you to make sure that when the person sits in the front seat, then the car indicates that the airbag reaction is on. |
