Not knowing the details of your citation for improper backing, I would say that first you should make certain you have a case to fight the ticket. If you did back up improperly and there is evidence of same. why waste your money fighting a losing battle. You have to weigh the cost of the fine plus how it affects your insurance versus paying an attorney to lose for you if the DA has a case.

Hire an attorney. It's not that expensive, and they will have a much better chance of beating the ticket, or at least keeping the points off your record.

You cant....this is one of many that cannot be beat due to reversing a vehicle and being ticketed which is always considered a safety issue...

Try asking the judge if you can take a defensive driving course.......
