How to put strobes in my truck?

I wanna put some saftey lights in my truck for when I plow and such. I'm gonna get a roof amber light, but i want some flashing LED's in my grill. since it's not a necessary, I don't wanna spend hundreds of dollars and go all out. I was thinking like $50 tops. I just want 3 or 4 real bright *** lights behind my grill to flash. like have them alternate right side flash lieft side flash. What should I buy? and no i'm not gonna turn them on going down the road, but if I were to get pulled over and a cop saw them could I get in trouble?

Yea, I was going to do white, but I forgot to mention that. I was thinking maybe this. Its cheap and looks like it comes with everything I need.

i'm just afraid of getting arrested. even if I don't use it on public roads.

I think there's some magnetic strobe lights for sale somewhere; and I think they're even 12VDC [cigarette lighter socket] powered or even battery powered. Or you could buy them and hard wire them into your electrical system.

One thing though, make sure they are WHITE strobes; for the following reasons:

red and blue combination are reserved for our friendly police forces.
red only is for fire
blue only is for volunteer firemen
yellow is for highway maintenance vehicles
green [at least in Indiana] is for Emergency Medical Tech in their private cars.

And they will come in handy in the fog -- some states have them installed on school buses as a safety device. Although check with your local police to see if you can do it legally.

well i know if you have rd or blue lights like the other guy says then ya you can get in trouble because thats considered impersonating a police officer or emergency vehicle, even those little ricers can't put blue or red neon lights on their cars for the same reason, for your snow plow for a pickup all you'll really need is some kind of light on the roof that has a magnet so you can take it off when your not plowing

well amber or white i have never heared of some one getting pulled over you would not likely get in a lot of trouble and if it were me i would get from whelen put sped tech is good and would get the STL 24 because you can get more in the grill but the 2 ones you are looking at would be great just get them in amber or whit best idea

Yes you would get in a lot of trouble.........flashing red and blue lights are for use by police and fire departments as well as state and highway vehicle using white and amber with the exception of commercial vehicles that have permits to use white or amber from the state.
