I'm looking at a 2006 Ford Mustang Coupe and trying to figure out if it has ABS or not. The person is selling it through his friends local used car shop and both the owner and the salesman can't tell me if it really has ABS or not. They just say, "I think it does, all the newer cars seem to have it." Well I've done my research and most of the cars I'm finding say 4-wheel disc brakes, which I believe is not ABS and not as good as ABS. I've also researched car sites to see what the standard is and some say the standard is disc brakes and some say ABS is standard. It's a matter of making or breaking the deal for me. So I want to know if there's a way, a basic person like me, can quickly inspect or look at the car and see if it has ABS or not. Thanks

Correction: The online sites say ABS is optional, not standard. So this seller only assumes it has ABS because he thinks all newer cars have ABS standard, which isn't true in this case.

If you have the VIN number I can tell you with a 100 percent certainty....
Update: I checked Fords applications for the Mustang and they show that it has ABS but the VIN would be helpful.
For the VIN number (1ZVFT80N365156957) is shows to have a 4.0L V6 EFI / SFI engine without ABS brakes. It always a good idea to cross-reference the VIN number just to be sure.....

most cars these days have ABS breaks. the easiest way to tell is if you put the key in it and it has a light that says ABS or anti-lock on the dash. you can also ask the dealer if it has ABS breaks. the manual in the car might also tell you if it has ABS breaks |

When you turn on your car there should be a screen to your right. If the ABS sign (ABS In a circle) appears you have abs. |
