How to stay awake while driving(IMPORTANT!!!)?

my mom has to take my dad to and from work
he works from 5pm to 3am
she doesnt get back til 5am and then she has to get up at 7am
to take the children to school
i cant drive cuz im pregnat and i dont even have a permit
my dad has a suspended lisence for 30 days and after that he has a resrticted
idk how long my mom can keep doing this it really scares me and i cant do anything so i need your guys help

she drinks coffee
takes naps in the middle of the day
energy drinks
cant change routine dada work is like 1 hour and a half away

Roll down the window.. if even a crack.. and let the cold air in to keep you awake

Open the windows to let in fresh, cold air. This will help keep her awake. Also, drinking coffe helps.

These are temporary solutions though, it is not a good idea to continue driving on 2 hours sleep a night. Can't the children get the bus to school? Or carpool?

i will tell u what i do when i feel sleepy before driving, i either do some push ups or i listen to a joke tape while driving.
laughing totally wakes me.

Wow! That's a rough situation. I'd say the best alternative would be to ask either other family or family friends to drive. If that is not an option, the best options for your mom would be to keep the windows open, have loud music on, and drink coffee. Caffeinne pills are not good since the crash from those pills is very sudden and drastic. I hope everything is ok for the next 30 days, at least.

It's a 2 hour drive to your dad's work? I'd be one really p*ssed off person if I had to do that. If she comes back home after taking the kids to school and can have a nap she'll be fine. Don't fret.

Ohh. not good. My boyfriend used to have these pills called No-Do'z that kept you awake. Caffeine pills are not at all good for you, but maybe she could try that? Or a cup or coffee, or energy drink. My mom always tells me that when driving, I shouldn't listen to any music that sounds repetitive or soothing, and should pick something I either can't stand or something rough so that it will keep me awake, you could try having her do that?

Turning up the radio is an obvious idea, but you need to do more than that. Pick a station with music that you enjoy, and sing loudly! If youâ€™re tired, the radio will eventually just become background noise in your mind. But if you are are interacting (singing) with what you are hearing, you will stay more alert and attentive.

Keep the heat away!! Warm air will make you more sleepy. If itâ€™s summertime and very hot outside, turn your air conditioner on high, and aim the vents right on you. If itâ€™s wintertime, roll down your window and let the cold air in. We all know that itâ€™s tough to fall asleep when weâ€™re cold and uncomfortable. You may get a slight cold or chapped skin, but so what. Itâ€™s better than the alternative if you were to fall asleep while driving.
