use your blinker and look behind you, beside you, and in front of you.
be careful of those darn blind spots!!!! best way is to continuously check behind you while driving, just to pay attention to who is driving behind you so you know who to look for and who may be in your blind spot. |

I agree with Nicole Y. Always check your rear view mirror every few seconds to perceive dangers lurking behind — tailgaters, hecklers, over speeding cars, and drivers under the influence. Aside from anticipating threats, it helps us contemplate our next move, giving us enough time to be cautious before overtaking or stopping or . . . slowing down.
Check if there is enough room ahead and behind you. Give your signal for a few seconds. Check your blind spot while continue driving in the same lane and when it is safe gradually change your lane. Also watch your speed! |

First thing is indicate - well before you change lanes. Three or four seconds minimum. Make sure there is nothing coming up behind you in the lane you want to get into. Then move over and switch off your indicators. The main thing is to be aware of other traffic. |

I will assume that you are in the right hand lane. Turn on the left turn signal, check your rearview mirror, then look over your left shoulder quickly to check your blind spot, if all is clear then change lanes and turn off your turn signals. Once you have passed the car in front of you, then repeat the process only this time turn on the right signal, check the rear view mirror, and look over your right shoulder and return to the right hand lane, and then turn off your signal.
good luck. |

If you are on a two-lane road you may only change lanes long enough to pass another vehicle. It is illegal to pass if there is a solid yellow line on your side, there is a Do Not Pass sign, or if there are conditions that make it unsafe to pass. On the highway, you can change lanes any time as long as it is safe, and there are no signs that tell you to stay in one lane.
When driving, always be aware of your surroundings. Check your mirrors every 10 seconds or so. Just before you change lanes, check your mirrors again, and quickly glance over your shoulder to make sure that there are no vehicles in your blind spot. If it is safe to do so, use the proper turn signal, and ease over into the other lane. |

OK check it out. put your signal on left. look in your mirror out side on the car. try to look over your shoulder, because this is where your gonna find a blind spot. a car could be right there but in the mirror, it looks as if your good to go. turn signal for the right lane same thing look in the mirror and always look over your shoulder, out the side windows and glance out the back window. |

Turn on your blinker, look into your mirror in the lane that you want to go in (but be sure to also pay attention to whats in front of you and on the sides) when thes no car or theres enough room for your car steer your car into that lane and turn off blinkers. good luck |

Perfect example of how easy it is to get a license. ALWAYS check your blind spot before changing lanes, no matter what. You should know this before you get a license. |

check rear-view mirrors for traffic approaching from behind at a faster speed. turn on signal, check lane next to you and merge over maintaining speed |

if theres rough debris in the road and you cant switch lanes slow down or come to a complete stop...yes turn on your turning blinker and check your mirrors including your blind spot and if all is safe then change lanes |
