How was my dads truck broken into?

My dad's truck was just broken into. After the shock set in, we wondered how the heck they got in. There was no damage to the door handles or locks and none of the windows were broken. The alarm went off, but that was about all. How were they able to break in without doing any damage?

In my area of the USA is gets real cold.... That's when electric locks don't work well..... May car thief's know this.... They stop by a parking lot full of cars when its real cold and start checking doors... Most people hit the lock button thinking the doors lock when in reality many doors lock mechanisms don't work well when its frigid out.... Was it real cold when he hit the power lock button?......
