I've found that in most urban environments in the UK, the weather is never bad enough to prevent you getting to where you're going, but it will take you much longer.
You should set off much earlier than normal, make sure your vehicle is in good condition (all fluid levels good), plenty of screenwash and take warm clothing, maybe even a flask of tea/coffee and some nibbles.
Drive defensively, and do not make sudden control movements. |

I live in the Midlands and I find the BBC weather forecast actually reliable in 90% of cases, not the media hype on tabloids. If it does snow and it gets as bad as they say it will, it is better not to drive to work. Leaving worst-case scenarios aside, a possible one is to get trapped in the snow till help arrives and not make it to work anyway. Otherwise, duck and good luck. |

Many places in the world live in over 3 feet of snow for most of the year! Half an inch fals in England and we all grind to a halt! Lets just all get over it and acept that snow happens its not the end of life as we know it!!! |

Accuracy of the weather forcaster matters. Also your ability to drive and your vehicles condition(good snow tires) and where you are going up down flat. Leave an hour earlier. |

Wait til morning look out of the window if you see your car wheels then go to work, if the snow is up to the door handles then the only safe thing to do is go back to bed. heheheh |
