It's really affecting my way of life because I need a job, but without a license, I can't get to where I prefer to work. . .
I'm terrified. I took Driver's Ed this recent school year (junior year), thinking I wouldn't get it, but I did.
I didn't have my Learner's Permit when I got into the class, and I HAD to get it in order to take the driving test, and pass the class (Luckily there was a nearby subdivision near my school, so my teacher took everyone there to drive)
I passed that, I still have my permit, and I haven't really driven since March of this year.
I just don't feel comfortable. Not even in my neighborhood. My mom's car is a Chrysler 300M Special and if you know what that car looks like (google it) it's pretty freakin' wide.
::sigh:: It really bums me out and I'm scared that I'm NEVER going to get out of this fear, you know?
But, I know people who didn't drive until they were 21.
I think I need a more comfortable car to practice in is all. . .

You need to be comfortable or you are going to hurt yourself and others. Visualize it like athletes do. When you go to sleep, make up scenarios in your head, and use your feet to hit the gas and brake pedals. I used this method to learn to drive a stick shift and it worked. I used it to learn manual dirt bikes too. Try it. |

When I learned to drive I had to practice in a huge van most of the time. I was kind of out of control with it at first but after going out a few times it was just like driving a small car. I think if you take out your mom's car and start off slow (maybe in an abandoned parking lot) and drive around a bit you'll feel more comfortable and be ready to take it on the streets in no time. don't compare yourself with other people..Someone has put some false ideas into your head, that driving is dangerous. Its only has dangerous as you make it. Wider cars are safer. You just need to take it slow. I was terrified of driving to, i was afraid of the other drivers cutting me off or getting angry. But when you are driving you have to concentrate on the rules and the road. |

The important thing, however, is that if you are nervous or apprehensive about driving you should continue to practice the absolute basics for as long as it takes you to get comfortable with each and every stage and you dont need a smaller car...... |

you need to make up your mind and drive,watch the mirrors keep up with traffic and drive..a wide car is safer,you`ll be fine. |

if you're really afraid of driving, then don't. the last thing we need on the road are timid scared and uncomfortable drivers. makes for unsafe conditions. if more people realized they are not cut out for driving, there might be less accidents out on the roads. know and accept your limitations. |
