As an expert driving school owner / instructor with over 26 years experience (and because I liked your response about the answers to your boyfriends dream), I'm going to help you.

The first thing you have to realize is where to look. Most new drivers look down at the road when they're driving and you need to keep your eyes up and off of the pavement. Try an experiment, while sitting in your room, look across the room at the wall while holding your hands down low (over your lap). While looking directly at the wall, you can see your hands at the bottom of your peripheral vision. Now look directly at your hands and you CAN'T see the same place on the wall. If you look up, you can see down but if you look down, you can't see up. By looking down at the road surface, you lose your sense of direction....you have to keep your eyes parallel to the road surface just like when you walk.
Next, when you are turning the car, your eyes need to look up to the END of the road to are turning onto. Just like when you are walking down the hallway in your home, when you go to make a turn, your eyes look first to where you want to go and then your body follows. The reason the car manufactures put windows on the driver & passenger doors is for you to look out of BEFORE you start turning.

just drive around your neighborhood you will just get use to it eventually and it will just become one of those things you do not have to think about

Nothing will actually do to make you chill. Driving takes practice. That's all. Keep at it & in time you'll get there. You should try driving a semi. I still get nervous while driving in Chicago.

Go to the Wisconsin dells and drive go karts all day!
Its a kids version of Vegas!!!

Or you could practice J Turns! Go some where secluded and spin the car on a dime. After that turning would be boring.

Any one that does not respect the responsibility of driving does not belong on the road.
So please do not loose your respect for the task of driving.
Yes gain some confidence, but always remember a car is like a loaded gun, a seconds inattention and some one may pay a heavy cost for it.

What you need are distractions---look at all the horny guys in the street--touch up your lipstick---add a little more blush occasionally--fix your hair in the rear-view mirror---a bit of window shopping --- .you know what I mean.Tried and tested over many years it has become the number one reason for the explosion of women drivers on our roads.Where else can any modern woman do so much sitting in one place.

(only kidding girls,some of the safest drivers I know are women)
