You should be happy, not afraid. Being cautious is a good thing though.

Honestly, if you live in fear of being in an accident at any moment then you will be an extremely nervous driver and people won't like riding with you and you'll never enjoy driving. Though it is important to keep an eye out for other cars at all times. The vast majority of people will obey the laws and might even be courteous (less and less it seems) but there will always be that one idiot who cuts you off or doesn't see you, and you should be ready for that.

I've been in an accident, a lady T-boned my car and it was completely her fault. I was pretty nervous to drive again after we got our new car, but after a few drives around town I was back to normal. You'll adjust to it, don't worry.

Enjoy your new freedom.

Drive with your parents :)

lol I remember when I first started, my dad was afraid to get in the car with me because he thought me reckless :p

Don't worry it's a lot easier than you think it is. My suggestion is to develop good driving habits early so they stick. Get use to driving at speed limit (good for environment, your wallet, your life, and no tickets!), stop fully at stop signs, etc.

your just over thinking and over reacting i think, your just afraid you'll mess up and something will happen, just stop thinking about something that could go wrong or something you'll mess up on, just drive like your supposed to and drive defensively and you'll be fine, you'll get comfortable eventually and you'll be fine

if you are this scared, don't drive alone until you are more comfortable. Driving shouldn't be scary for you...if it is, you will make it twice as scary for the other drivers on the road. Being 16 an not experienced enough will make it harder for you to drive and concentrate. Please, if you are afraid of driving, don't risk it until you are ready.

One HS Student death EACH month my senior year occurred due to accidents!
I have lost too many friends due to car accidents while in HS.
Please be careful.

not 2 B fooled
Be safe, watch the other drivers on the road, forget about being "cool" - that is not important. What matters is your driving ability and driving safely and defensively. DO NOT give your friends a ride !!! You need much more behind the wheel time before worrying about taking on passengers

Don't do it until you're comfortable! Really, being nervous while driving is rather dangerous in itself, you'll be too distracted and afraid to drive properly. No one should be forcing you to drive alone, so you should either take the bus or ask your parents to come with you :)

Remember not to drive your friends around until you are VERY comfortable with driving; give it a few months. And of course slowly work up the number of people you drive around. (E.g. Start by driving with a parent and one close friend to the corner store, then just one close friend and slowly work up to however many your car holds.)

Driving is not about impressing anyone, it's about safely getting from A to B. The coolest thing you can do for your friends or anyone you're giving a ride to, or anyone else on the street, is make them feel safe when you're on the road. Trust me, no one likes a risky driver.

Ummmm some advice let's seeeee..... Be PREDICTABLE and CONFIDENT!

Always drive defensively (pay close attention to other drivers), keep a safe distance between yourself and the vehicles ahead as well as behind you, maintain a safe, legal speed. Once you get in the habit of doing this, driving will become second nature to you. Most important of all, always look twice before going through stop lights or signs, there are a lot of motorcycles out there. Great job passing your test, Hope I was of some assistance. Good luck!
