If you got flashed of course they will know. That's the idea.
Are you learning with a proper instructor? Why did he let you speed?
You'll get points on a license you don't even have yet and a nice big fine.
Good luck getting insurance |

You will incur a fine and points on your licence, as would any other driver in this situation. |

You're a learner and you're already speeding!?
Lets face it, you don't deserve to get your licence, |

Speed cameras are ''usually'' on the side of the road where they are trying to catch speeders. Was there another car going in the opposite direction to you when it went off??
What speed were you doing and what was the speed limit anyway?? |

yes the points will go on your licence when you get it. speed cameras are digital now so they get both sides of the road |

Your instructor should of been keeping an eye on your speed, sack him and get someone more alert. |

There are several different types of spped camera's nowadays. the normal sort would have to be on your side of the road for it to catch you.
If it was that sort it could be flashing some one else, unless you were spending heavily it will pick up the opposite lane (your lane)
If it was the other type it could have been flashing you, they will send you a notice stating the date and time of the incident, you can reply and ask for a picture of the vehicle in which case if they have this you will recieve the fine and points.
as asked previously if you were in a instructors car, he shouldnt have let you speed.....!
The points you will get on your licence will only be 3 and as a learner driver these will go onto your licence when you get it. as a learner driver you are allowed maximum of 6 points within a 2 year period, if you accumilate more than this you will loose your licence. for how long is down to the courts.
A speeding fine should normaly come through within 2-3 weeks, they have been known to come through in over 6 months though...
Check with the camera itself, was it painted yellow? if not its a legal matterm that all camera's should be painted yellow.
I would guess that you will be fine, My brother and i used to play about with a camera on the opposite side of the road, the road was a 40mph and we used to go past it a 70mph the opposite way, it flashes and they get a blank photo!!!
Dont worry about it, if it happens it happens... such as life!
Hope this helps |

It's easy to let your speed slip a little.
i hope you werent excessively going over, i usually go 31/32 and then my instructor tells me off.
I reckon you should be ok, but definitely look around for another instructor though, he/she should be your eyes at all times.... |

Were you with a qualified driver, if so you will just get a fine and points, if not, you will probably lose you license and get a much much bigger fine, and loads of points, particularly if you didn't have insurance, which would be likely as L drivers insurance is based on a qualified driver being with you. |

Ohhhh. that is not so good. You should not speed even when you are not a learner. Take more care next time. |

HULK RULES!!

You'll be receiving a ticket in the mail. Challenge it in court and explain to the judge you're just learning to drive and were with an instructor at the time. Hopefully it'll get tossed. Then toss the instructor. |

they will send a letter containing the photo of the car you were driving to the owner of the vehicle. if they don't want the ticket on their own record, they will have to turn you in. however, in some states there is no law that requires to provide the identity of the driver, just to prove the driver isn't the owner of the car. if they have your picture, you are pretty much screwed. accept the fine and take traffic school to get the point off your license. |

If the camera was facing you when it flashed then it wasnt catching you. If it has caught you then you will get a letter thru the post with a picture of your car. You are looking at 3 points on your provisional license and £60 fine. and your insurance premium just took a giant leap as well |

Was the camera on the same side that you were driving on? if it was on the other side of the road it was for the car on the other side of the road! who is the car registered to? the penalty points would go to the owner if camera was on the side u were driving! |

If you were with your driving instructor some if not all of the blame lies with them and it may be that he/she will recieve the fine and points. If your instructor tries to charge you with the fine you can most likely state that you were under his instruction and he should have been keeping his eye on your speed and asking you to correct it where needed. If as i suspect this was the case and you were with a qualified instuctor you will get away with it.
If not, the person who was with you who already has a full licence will have very much the same level of resposibilty.
Be careful when you do pass your test, 6 points on you licence within 2 years of passing your test and you will be banned. usually it's 12 points. This is only after you have had a full licence for 2 years.
It doesn't matter if the camera can see your face. it's seen your reg no. If that is registered to you (as in you own the car) the fine and points will land on your door step. It's then up to you to prove that you weren't driving the car at the time of the camera catching the car speeding.
If you are unlucky enough for your instructor to try to pin it on you seek legal advice. It should be free for a consultation.
Hope this helps. safe driving. |

if you are stupid enough to drive like an idiot while being a beginner driver you deserve what you get especially when you can;t spell license please go back to school |

Sorry to hear that. You will soon know as they have only a short set time (is it about three weeks?) to tell you what is going to happen. You may get three points and a fine. The worst thing is you have to declare it to your car insurance company. |

If it was your car then the fine will be addressed to you. Alternatively if it was someone elses car they are obliged to say who was driving. (The new generation of GATSO's capture the driver as well as the plate).
However if the GATSO was on the opposite side of the road I suspect it would be aimed at motorists going the other way. |

if it was a gatso speed camera, which is one of the most popular in the UK, then if the camera was facing you but on the side of the opposite traffic then you would not have been speeding because they can only take pictures on one side of the road. |

not sure in this case but once you have first passed ya test you will lose ya license if caught speeding in first 2 years. as all points are double and they only let ya get 6 so you would be screwed.not worth the hassle so take it easy!!!!sounds like a poor instructor if not keeping a close eye on everything you are doing. |

If the camera had any film in, if anybody bothers to look at it, if they got a good picture of you, if the owner of the car tells them it was you, etc. then you have got a problem. One important fact for you to remember is when you drive at a speed below the speed limit you never have to worry about any of this. |

First, learn to spell. If the camera was on the right it will not have you. Only cameras on the left will get you for "speedtax" |

if the camera was on a different side of the road to you it wasnt you it was flashing, its only when the flash comes from behind you it you who has been flashed (there are some cameras that can get you as you drive towards them, these however dont flash so being as you saw a flash it deffinatley wasnt one of those!) anyway sometimes they can flash you even if you wernt speeding (obviously you wouldnt get a ticket) so i really wouldnt worry at all |
