This is an old trick my grandpa taught me.....look toward the center of the hood until you cant see the road no more....it is better if you have a car with a hood ornament or the center line down it.....once you line the center of the hood or hood ornament with the white line on the shoulder....your car is dead center in your lane.

One way is to try and make sure that you see the middle lines of the road sort of "disappear" under your front fender. Example: yor driving in North america and the middle lines are on your left. position the car so that you see the lines pass under the front left "corner" of your car. That's the best explanation I can come up with right now. Hope it helps.

hit the curb a couple of times and you will learn not to drive so close to it.

just think as if there's hot lava there or a Cliff would you drive too close to that.

see where the curb is and focus on driving not-so-close...

You can have "curb guards" installed on your tires. You may have seen them, they are four metal rods-like things that stick form your tires. When you are too close to a curb they scrape the curb. You rarely see them now. Some people do have them on their expensive rims. I guess you can say the curb guards are like training wheels in a sense. However, they are purchased for style by some, so no one will know why you are really using them.

Steer a little to the left (or to the right if you're in Britain). Seriously, you should be looking further down the road and at the middle of the lane. You will naturally steer to where you are looking.

Have a friend stand on the sidewalk and tell you when you are the correct distance from the curb, (within 17") then line up your hood or finder with a line on the sidewalk. You will get used to it..

when you hit one you will change your habit, always drive next to the strip its was in the driving test you took are you a fully licensed driver ? some roads you have no choice but on a interstate how do you drive there is no curb ? always but your self in the seat one foot over from the stripe and you will in the lane perfetly so when driving look at the strip to your left and imagine one foot next to it give it a try on a untraveled road get out and look where you vehicle really is they in time it will habit you will be fine

Turn to the left a bit, and focus more on the center of the road. You generally end up driving where you look.

Hit it one time and blow a tire out. That has broken many people from doing it. Id say like when I 1st started driving you are intimidated and worry about getting to close to other cars. This is normal and should start going away when you get more comfortable driving. Just don't drive like the rest of the crazy people out in this world.

hum usually new drivers ride the center line. you need to set out a few guilds or reference points. hear are the one i use. first one is where the curb hits" goes under the hood" find that point and keep it there. the next one is the reference off the center line. hear i use a line from my eyes throw my left knee to the center line, by using both of these reference point you only need your peripheral vision. good luck and be safe.
