nope its a good thing think of how much gas you are saving
no insurance problems no up keep of the car and no speeding or parking tickets or even worries about parking
(I don't drive and i haven't driven since i was 16! and I;m 52
I get around either by bicycle,and bus and walking

As if that will help. You are just as likely to be killed or injured in an accident as a passenger than as a driver.

and really, do you trust every other person who may drive you to do it as safely when it is your neck on the line. I trust me more than I trust others.

It's not bad....but on the other hand you don't know where life will put you.

In the future you could want to move to someplace else, but driving would be mandatory or necessary. IMO that's not the time to scramble to get your license because you'd be under pressure to get it.

If you got your license now without pressure, and even if you don't have a car, you could always rent one.

I lived in the city for years, had my license, never used it, but didn't let it lapse. Now I'm in the country, driving's necessary. There's no public transportation. Glad I didn't let it lapse otherwise I'd have to go through the whole story again: written and road test. I only took the written.

While standing in line to take the written, an older lady behind me was anxious. She said her husband drove her everywhere so she never learned to drive. He'd just passed away and now she had no choice...

Just a suggestion: go for your license-it's good ID at least. Fate has a strange way of dealing her cards.

I think you will have to drive because there are many emergencies and you need to nkow how to drive.

Fear of driving is a bad thing. You need to work through the fear before it tears you apart. Accidents do happen, but most are preventable. If you drive defensively, keep your speed in check, don't drink & drive, & limit your driving durning inclement weather, rush hour, & late nite, you are less likely to be involved in an accident.

I agree with Overrule. Get your license while you are still young & keep it, even if you never use it. As Overrule & others are saying, you never know when you will need it. Many great vacation spots & job opportunities are in areas where mass transiit is limited or non existent. In addition, emergencies do arise that require you to get behind the wheel of a car. Also, without a driver's license, some employers will move your resume from 1st tier down to 2nd tier or lower, since they have no clue if your transportation to work is reliable enough. Good luck!!
