This was prom night, and we got together at a friends house, we split in two groups to go there. Limos were not allowed, I didnt know why, and so we took two cars to go. I was driving one car and a guy called Eric was driving the other car. Eric always speeded, but dont get me wrong, he was a really good driver. But that night the roads were slippery because it had rained. And when we got to prom, they hadn't arrived yet. We waited for them but they never appeared. We tried to call them, but none of them answered. We didn't worry because we thought they might have gone off to buy some booze or something. My phone began to ring and I hoped it was them. But it wasn't.
That night we were all in shock. we couldn't believe it. Eric had been speeding and they crashed. That night, 1 of the six passengers in that car survived that crash. It was Eric. He was traumatized for the rest of his life and in the end, he killed himself out of despair. This was 8 years ago. I am still horrified and traumatized by this experience.

Where are you exactly right now? Please install a GPS transponder in your car, and I'll have my buddy pull you over. He is a Massachusetts State Police. He will give you such a whopping ticket, that by the time you pay it off, won't have a car to go speeding around.

Uh, ya, professional driver here.... It's not that you are in complete control of your car, it's that others are not. When you drive at high velocities, other people don't have enough time to react to YOU and will cause an accident with you. Personally, if you just got your license, that means you are WAY to confident and you don't really know that you have full control of the car and you actually have a false sense of control. You need WAY more experience in MANY situations before you can even THINK about saying that! What if a child suddently steps out into the street. So much for being a police officer! You're in jail and the kids maimed or dead! What if it was your little sister or brother. Your neice or nephew? Now what if it was MINE? Thanks a lot buddy!
So lets say you jet around that corner without slowing down and BAM a car just pulled out of a parking space and you smash into that poor woman with three kids in the back and a dog. The dog is thrown through the window and with a broken back, is put down. The kids are seat belted in and just get a bit of whiplash, but the lady gets a broken pelvis and a whiplash and is in the hospital. AND they don't have their loving dog anymore. Who is going to take care of her kids? Her husband has to work to put food on the table and now they have extra medical bills. Are you gonna do it? No, you drive to fast. What a burden you've become. I suppose you don't wear a seatbelt either? Do you KNOW how much speeding tickets costs? If you are over 20 miles per hour over the speed limit, I think they can ticket you for wreckless driving and take you to jail. Hope you have many hundreds of dollars.

That UMMMM guys story reminds me of a similar true story. Mercedes Benz being driving by a 16 year old with a friend in the passenger seat and three in back. He was wearing his seatbelt. He was driving 80 plus in a curvey road with a 40 mph speed limit. Get that picture in your mind. He crosses over the double yellow line, smashing into a white mustang with a young family in it, flips the car and lands on it's roof. 1 minute later, my husband (then, my boyfriend) arrive on the scene. The car is smoking and badly mangled. The driver is upside down, suspended from his seat belt. He rushes over to the white car, the adults where barely concious, but appeared okay, considering. The baby was screaming. He goes back to check the youngsters in daddys mercedes benz. The driver has died and so has the passenger in the front. He hears a sound from the back seat, reaches in a hand to find a wet hand. Blood covered. The hand closes on his. He peers into the back seat. The owner of the hand asks if her friends are okay, and my husband says "no, I don't think so". Blood is filling the car and the hand goes limp. Only the one behind the passenger in the back made it. The other 4 died, one while holding his hand. Don't put another innocent person through this!!!

Do you get speeding tickets? they check your record before becoming a police officer. And speeding around like that could decide wether you become one or not. Besides, you may have control but what if a teenager or another adult who doesnt have so much "esteem with the car pulls out on a corner, and here you come speeding around and hit them.

I would consider it.

Please slow down. My uncle is paralysed from the waist down because when he was 20 years old he was driving too fast and lost control of his car and hit an embankment. He was driving but was actually thrown out the passenger side of his car because he was not wearing a seat belt and landed in the road. He spent his 21st birthday in the hospital.

Several of my friends have died in car accidents because they were driving too fast. A guy I went to school with was driving too fast and a school bus pulled out in front of him and his car went under the school bus. The doctor told his family that he will never be right again and will have to have someone take care of him the rest of his life.

Don't think this can't happen to you because it can. Speed kills. Please wake up and slow down before you kill your self or someone else or you could end up in really bad shape and have to have someone take care of you the rest of your life. Think about it.
