My best advice is to admit your guilt and say you are sorry. Try to aviod telling the judge that you were aware and didn't expect to get caught. That last part, about getting caught, will especially sound bad. It makes you come across as one who doesn't care and doesn't believe the laws should apply.
This is what is know as a "scofflaw." These kinds of drivers don't get any sympathy in court. Admit your guilt. Say you are very sorry. Chalk it up to inexperience and will try VERY hard not to do it again.
At sixteen, a judge may either go easy on you, or pull your provisional license until you are eighteen. So, your apologies and regret had BETTER look genuine.
And you will probably HAVE to pay the $150 no matter what. Your insurance rates will probably go up. What you are TRYING to acheive, here, is NOT losing your license.
Oh, and if you do get away with ONLY having to pay the fine, watch your driving habits carefully. Any new moving violation, no matter how trivial, Will probably result in them taking away your license. |

face the music my friend. we older drivers know where the cops are. You have to learn where they are. Until you do, drive at the speed limit. |

So you would only follow the law if you think you will get caught, how silly. You committed an offense, you got busted. Now it is time to take the consequences and pay your fine.
This is evidence that 16 is way to young to have a full license, the consideration for others is just not there yet. What if you had caused an accident? |

Go in there & tell them yes, you did it & see what they offer you. They may offer you differed adjudication, or you can request it, which is like a guilty w/o saying you are guilty! Depending on your laws you will have to stay clear of getting any traffic tickets for 90 days & the fine, as in your case is $150 is usually lowered. You can also request to take a defensive driving class which will lower the fine you have to pay as well.
This is all dependent on your municipal laws.
Good luck |

go to traffic school. you still have to pay the fine + school fee but it won't go on your driving record. That way your ins won't go up. yet |

If you go to your county courthouse and pay your ticket, you will not have to go to court. They give you a court date as a favor, in case you want to argue that you weren't speeding. There's no way you can win. They will believe the cop every time. So just pay your ticket, and you don't have to go to court. |

Obviously, you were not paying attention when you took tests for getting a license, especially the part about obeying the speed limits.
AH, yes. i remember those days when I learned the hard way like you. Sooner or later, you decide that paying out all that money for tickets is a waste and start slowing down a little. |

You broke the law and now you have to pay that is just how it works. |

Earl is right, go to traffic school. you still have to pay the fine + school fee but it won't go on your driving record. That way your ins won't go up. yet
This is your best bet / deal. You do have a lot of years of driving ahead of you so don't start loading up on tickets so soon, never looks good. |

You were not asked to appear in court, you were TOLD to appear.
DEFINITELY GO and take your checkbook.
Didn't know you would be caught is #1 on the DON"T SAY list. |

I am puzzled by your question. what exactly are you asking?
First of all, if you go to court and tell the truth you will still have to pay the fine and probably costs as well.
saying you are 16 and only have your licence for 1 month will not help (in fact will have the opposite effect) and saying you were only speeding because you thought you wouldn't get caught is the dumbest excuse you can come up with.
As for saying you are caucasian. what effect do you think that will have?
You did the crime, so just pay the fine and hope that is the end of it |

What do you want, a magic wand? There is nothing you can do. And what does your race have to do with anything????
Man up and accept the consequences of your actions. |

At 16 years of age you better hope that the judge will allow you to take a defensive driving course or you will likely loose your license plus your insurance will fly out of the roof. |

Tell the Judge you didn't think you'd get caught. Seriously don't worry you probably won't get another ticket for speeding soon, you were probably invited to Court to revoke your license. |
