I get shocked when i get out my car. How can i prevent this?

As soon as i get ready to close the door when i get out the car i get shocked. If i close the door by pushing it up by the window instead of pushing it up by the door to avoid getting shocked, the metal handle on the door to whatever store im going into shocks me. Please help ease the pain. :-(

it's caused by your clothes rubbing on the seat. there's not much you can do about it really. the shock on the door isn't that bad, make sure you close it by the door and not the window when you go to pump gas, otherwise the spark when you touch the gas nozzle could start a fire!

You're best bet would be to buy a can of static guard and spray the seats with it. You can find it at most grocery stores or auto stores, etc.

The best thing to do is to make sure you're touching the car as you exit the vehicle...touch the metal.
Or: when you get out, touch the key to the car (metal) and the spark will diffuse at the end of the key rather that your hand of finger.

Its called static. Take your car key and touch something metal.
