I got court for driving 102m/h please help , what should i do?

i 've been pulled over FIRST TIME for driving 102 m/h with 55 speed limit , no construction or school zone,the weather was good 2, it was 2 am and it was at highway 98 between fort walton city and destin city , open road no ppl and cars at all! court may 5 2009 what should i do? should i hire lowyer?should i plea not guilty? i didnt notice i was driving so fast:( it was my first time driving my friends sport car,,,, please help

u guys are so rude and wrong!!!! thanx anyway! btw its not double speed limit its 47 over 55 !!!!! double will be 110 !!! other thing that i am regret what i've done and absolutly sure that this not gonna happen again, i am clearly obedient driver and have never been driving like this before! i know its my mistake but i hope and pray that they will give me pomission to ask for stay of judification,also i will take school safe driving before court , so they can c i am resposible person! i do blame myself i dont know what happened there i just got so excited and lost attention on speed and was about to break up but saw light infornt of my face:(((
also i live at FLORIDA and LF lawyer but its hard to find good one :( please help if u can,if u cant help please stop giving stupid answers!!!! thank u all

first offense u'll get off with a heavy fine and ur license will probably be suspended for couple months...as long as u pulled over when u were supposed to...yes i would get a lawyer(not lowyer)

There probably isn't much that you'll be able to do. Unless you can argue a valid reason for going that fast (not really likely), I'm afraid you should just prepare to pay the fine. As a first time offense the judge will probably not revoke your license. I wouldn't suggest doing it a second time though as that far over the speed limit is reckless driving which is a lot more serious than speeding.

Get a lawyer not a lowyer. A lawyer will do a better job. And it doesn't matter if you didn't realize you were speeding, because you were. Nor does it matter if there was no construction or school zone and weather good , that's too damn fast on a highway.If you were my kid you'd wouldn't drive again until 18 when you moved out. See at that speed all it takes one little thing to make you have a wreck. What if you would have had a blow on the tire, you could be dead. You are not experienced enough for driving that fast. Do it at a race track, where you can get medical attention should have a wreck. Your lucky the cop didn't throw you in jail. Around here they will. You''l probably get your license suspended.

If that's near Florida then its 4 points plus $250.00 standard fee for 30 m.p.h. and above the posted speed limit plus $30.00 court cost plus whatever else the judge decides including lost of your license plus a very high insurance rate increase........you need a lawyer...

Where I live (AZ), that's a felony and you can go to jail for that.

1. it doesnt matter if there was nobody around or anything
2. you were going double the speed limit, it takes a lot of throttle to get to 100 mph, and if you cant notice your going 100 mph instead of 50, then you have problems

Funny that your name is stopresistin. You're lucky you got caught. You could have been killed or someone could have "come out of nowhere", as they say. You have to face your responsibilities. Hope you're not still on your parents' insurance.

Face it...you're guilty. My advice is to plead no contest to the charges and face the music. In many cases, a reckless driving charge will be added on because going double the speed limit is not only reckless but very stupid. Let me add that reckless driving is a felony. You could very well face a jail sentence and revocation...NOT suspension...of your license.

You are facing a long-term suspension, heavy fines and probation at the least. It doesn't matter what time of the day or night it was, or whether there were any other cars on the road. That's no excuse. Speed limits are there for a reason...OBEY them!! Let me add that reckless driving is a felony. Not likely to do much good hiring a lawyer, but if you can find one who specializes in speeding may want to talk to them. Simple fact is you are risking your license. It doesn't matter what the road was like. The only saving grace is that you wouldn't hit someone else. You were 47 MPH over the MAX LIMIT. That is all that matters.

Good one there Sparky; but I'm not biting. If you were doing 102 MPH you would definately have known it. And I doubt it very much if anyone will contradict me on that one. I have been driving sports cars for over 40 years and there is no mistaking the sensation when you reach 100 MPH.

That said; if you are that obtuse then I would recommend that you throw yourself on the mercy of the courts and hope and pray that someday they give you back your license.
