I got flashed twice (head on) by a GATSO camera on opposite side of road...could I have been caught?

The camera was facing me but on the opposite side of the road (i.e. taking pics of traffic going in the opposite direction)
I was doing about 40 on a 30 road.
if anyone knows it...I was travelling on old farleigh road in selsdon going downhill, im not sure whether there were road markings on my side of the road any clues?

No it's happened to me from the opposite side of the road. You could well have been. They need to write to you with NIP within 14 days of the incident, not what the other guy said. Are you sure there wasn't those tiny markings that you can barely see (like on the M25) there? There is no way of finding out I'm afraid you just need to sit and wait it out. I hate dreading the post! |

If it was a gatso then you're ok, they can only get you from behind. Must have got someone on the otherside of the road. |

No,you will not get done for this,I have had this happen to me loads of times and haven't been nicked once.I've been told it's something to do with misalignment of the cameras laser. |

No Gatsos can only do you from behind (if you'll pardon the expression).
However do keep your eyes open for Tuvelos which look like Gatsos, but don't flash. These CAN do you from the front. |

You could be the first prosecution for exceeding the limit while apparently driving in reverse gear. |

Faulty camera I would say. To catch you - it would HAVE to be on your side and facing so that it could capture your car. You have not been done for speeding xx |

There's every chance you might have been. If you don't get a letter within 28 days you can stop worrying.
I would suggest that you watch your speed in future though. |

watch the post! bad luck if you were on opposite side of road not sure how those things work, i am afraid i am one of those who travel the speed limit cos i drive for a living it would cost me to much to break the limit! good luck. x |
