I have a broken front strut on my driver side. Is it safe to drive since my car is making noises when i turned?

I am scared to drive and since I am a female, I think I have a broken struts and really I am unsure. HELP!

Thanks for all the responses. I am only going to drive it to the mechanic which is about 20 minutes away from home. Can I still do it or should I get it tow?

I would advise you to not drive the car. If you do have a broken strut it may hinder you ability to turn.

No, the car isn't safe to drive. The noises are a sign that you're most probably doing even more damage by trying to move the car.
If you've got breakdown cover, get the car carried away for repair. If you haven't got cover the cost of lifting & towing may seem high but compare to the damage you could do, it's still worth paying for.

Actually NO it is not safe to drive. The strut is what holds the wheel in a verticle position on the axle.

If you are getting a loud clicking noise when you turn, that would be your CV joint going bad. A broken strut will make a loud banging sound when you hit bumps.

Nope............you will loose some handling as well as control..don't drive it.
