I have been told a couple of various things.
1. allowed 3.1mtr overhang as long as beam has a marker triangle on it.
2. only allowed 1.5mtr overhang.
could somebody help me out please.

A 3.1 metre overhang is fine with end & side marker triangles. |

I would see if you can find how much this beam weighs, as if it is not too heavy, you could secure it on the tilt, against your back-board, and ramped up over the cab. This should make your only overhang a small one over the cab, but you would need to be very careful about low-bridges! |

I'm an ex UK commercial driver and to be honest I can remember what the law is regarding over sized loads, personally I think that the first Police patrol car that see's you will stop you and probably put you off the road.
Regardless of how many warning signs you put on the over hang its 2.8 metres that was 9 feet plus in my day, the loads to long and the truck is to short. I wouldn't carry it |
