I have my permit. So any tips?

here's some tips from a pro like me..haha..
no seriously

-ONLY pass in the left hand lane don't just drive in it.
-ALWAYS use your turn signals, even in parking lots
-It's safe and even normal to travel 5 to 10 mph over the speed limit..don't drive on the dot unless in a neighborhood...use judgement with speed. Driving too slow or even doing the speed limit sometimes can be hazardous.

-When driving in ICE, Snow or heavy rain use caution and TAKE YOUR TIME..taking your time will almost guarentee safety.

-When in traffic (and for most other times) pick a lane and stay in it.
-DON'T pull out in front of somebody only to drive slow...nothing more annoying than some huge vehicle driven by a soccer mom pretending to be in a hurry and gunning out in front of me to drive 5 under the speed limit.

-Don't ride peoples butts, especially not vehicles you can't see around.
-ALWAYS drive with anticipation for what other's may do. Most of the time it's other's stupidity that can get you in an accident so pay extra attention at stop signs, red lights and parking lots.

-Always yield to pedestrians, especially in parking lots

AND NEVER DRIVE DRUNK OR INEBRIATED at all.

Follow those rules and you should stay safe for the most part. Remember driving isn't a right it's a privilege. have fun and stay safe.

ps: i also want to add, more over the phone and smoking or changing the radio..don't eat in the car..i've known 2 people who've been in accidents from it and one was my boss who died and left 5 kids and a wife all alone all over a big mac.

pay attention to everyone else, and stay calm. its not you that you have to worry about, but the crazy drivers that are out there. keep your eyes open

Just drive the speed limit and always leave enough distance in front of you from the other driver.

1. Paying attention to the road and not your phone.
2. Don't except any calls or texts while driving and if it's really urgent pull over in a parking lot or on the side of a road.
3. DON'T GET DISRACTED!

what you can do to be a save driver is never tale gate, whenever you make a turn to a any street don't go to fast because you don't know what's on that street you turning into and lastly don't drive faster than your guarding angel can fly. =o)

First of all....

Always have a parent or someone over the age of 18 in the car with you. If you get pulled over and are driving alone with only a permit, you will be in some trouble that you didn't want.

and then...listen to everyone else's answers!!!

I never really saw the point in looking in my rear view mirror. Who cares what people behind you are doing? Until I got rear-ended for the first time. So, don't learn the hard way. Constantly check your rear view mirrors so you can save yourself from being rear-ended. Good luck and drive safe :)

well i still can not drive but i am in the car all the time with my parents so when driving NEVER text or talk on the phone that annoys me so much and there are way too many crashes because of it, my mom gets in a bad situation daily from speeding to running red lites the list seems to go on forever

Watch for idiots running red lights-look and look again-don't take chances-don't trust anybody if they have a turn signal on it doesn't mean anything now days. DRIVE SAFE
