Yes, you should get mirror extensions.

If you go to this website http://www.drawtite.com/untomi.html you can view the different universal mount towing mirrors available.

The trailer is probably wider than the SUV, so yes, you'll need mirrors to be safe--and plenty of practice, especially on corners!

Yes you will need them but also check that you do not exceed the towing recommendations for that vehicle and drive safe.
