I just got my license, and I just have an unsettled feeling in my chest. It just worries me to drive sometimes. I know that if I do one thing wrong, how much of an impact that could make in everyone's lives. And it's just unsettling for me. Just those little moments where you think 'wow, what if I didn't stop at that moment...' has me freaked. I'm a 16 year old female and am just kind of worried. Is this normal? It's just weird to know that I don't have my parents there to tell me "NO! Don't pull out right now..." in the passengers seat.

Its normal to feel scared when you're new at something but don't worry, you'll be driving so much that it will become second nature to you. |

Don't worry you have nothing to really be afraid out. Just think when your driving that your mom or dad is right next to you. Don't think about it too much just focus on the road. |

This is normal. After you become more familiarized with driving, these feeling should pass. We can't worry about these things every time that we get behind the wheel. Just drive your best, know the rules, don't be a speed demon and you should be fine. :) |

If you're scared stay off the road you're a risk to everyone if you drive with a paranoid attitude like this. Theres nothing to be afraid of. |

I have been driving for ten years now and still to this day get scared of driving on the highway or where ever there are semi trucks. The feeling does go away after a little bit of time. The best thing that I can suggest is to start out by going somewhere that does not have a lot of traffic or busy streets. I drove around my neighborhood until I was comfortable driving. My husband sometimes gets mad that I do not pull out at times that I could because I am not comfortable at that time to pull out safely. I just don't listen. lol The best things that I can tell you is that practice does make nearly perfect and to not text or be on the phone while driving. Hands free headsets are best. As stupid as it sounds it is truly a great thing to live by. IF you drive with friends in the car just make sure you are paying attention to the road and not just them. Hope this helps!
