I have a dodge ram with Pennsylvania plates (that's where I'm from). I work here in New York, and every morning I go to my truck and have a commercial vehicle parking violation ticket. My license plate says TRUCK not COMMERCIAL. How do I go about getting them to stop giving me tickets for a commercial vehicle, when I do not even own one?

My vehicle does not have logos on it. It's just a Dodge Ram extended cab short bed. I really don't know who to call, we've sent in pictures for the fines. We are parking outside our house. It's not in a no - parking zone. It's a 5 passenger vehicle, not a work vehicle.

You just need to call the city traffic division in New York or the local police department. |

Go to the local police station and ask why this is happening. In some states all trucks are considered commercial. This might be why this is happening to you. If so, you must obey the laws in the state which you are parking. |

If your vehicle has any kind of company signage or logos on it, it is considered a commercial vehicle in regards to parking enforcement. Doesn't matter if it is a pickup truck, or a van. Heavy trucks are self-explanatory.
There are some neighbourhood associations that don't even allow you to park a vehicle with business logos, etc in your own driveway. |
