Okay, so I'm only 14 (birthday is in June), but my dad won't let me drive later on unless I really know what I'm doing. And I want to impress him the first time he takes me driving. I was wondering if anyone had ANY tips at all or if anyone knew of any websites that kind of 'guide' you. I mean, I know learning to actually drive is kind of a physical thing but I just would love to know some "rules of the road". ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED!!!!!

By the way I live in California. So any driving laws would also be of great help.

ONE of the laws in California is that you shouldn't be behind the wheel of a car, on a public street until you have passed a written test and attained your learner's permit.
Pick up a free copy of the Driver's Handbook from any DMV office. This has ALL the information you need to help you pass that test.
Seriously, you have no business on the road until you know ALL the rules of the road that apply to you. And your dad would be very irresponsible for letting you do this before getting your permit. HE could get into serious trouble if you are caught, and YOU could lose any chance of getting a license until you are 18. (think about it. That would be the year of 2013) |
