I need to know if the e-brake is on when its up or down?

i need to know wether the e-brake is on when the lever is down or up

Up. Here is why. When you pull up on the lever, you are pulling on the cable connected to the rear break. This cable is connected to the break in such a way as it applies the break to ether the rotter( if you have disk breaks) or the drum if it has drum breaks.

So when the lever is down the cable has slack and the break is off.

if its a foot ebrake its on when down if its a hand ebrake its on if up...

A console's handle e-brake is on when it is up.

The pedal e-brake is on when it is pressed down.

when its up if its in the middle console but its on when its uner the dash and you have to push it with you foot

Well, try stepping on the gas while its up, see what happens, same for when its down. Then you'll never forget!

If it's a foot pedal, it will be on when it is down.
On a hand lever it will be on when it is up.


UCANTCME
It you have it in the center of the two front seats then it will be on when it is pulled up.

If you have it on the drivers left side floorboard then it will be on when it is down.
