I ran a stop sign and someone wrote down my license plate number.?

last night me and some friends went to see a movie, afterwards we went out to taco bell in my car. on the way back to the theater parking lot, we came the back way to avoid traffic. i pulled onto a theater owned road that attached the back (also totally vacant) of the theater for like food delivery's. i ended up being stuck behind a truck going 10 mph on that road, so i passed them also running a mini-stop sign. the truck then follows me rather than turning(their blinker was originally on to turn), i decide i don't want to be chased so i speed up really fast and turn around the side of the theater quickly and park in the crowded parking lot hoping they wont try and find me... they do. i see the lady in the passenger seat writing something down, i suspect my license plate number. can she can the police, and can they ticket me?

but truck, i mean it was a pickup truck, not a delivery truck.

First, you cut through a delivery zone... it is not a 'shortcut'. The truck had the right-of-way. Deliveries can occur at any time.

Second, there is no such thing as a mini-stop sign. It is a stop sign, period.

They can phone in a complaint to the police department. While they might not be able to ticket you, the information will go on file.

well you should not have ran the stop sign in the first place. but no they cant they dont have any proof. its just say you dont know what shes talking about.

A police officer has to witness the violation unless a collision took place in which case the lady would still have to prove it in court. I wudda given her the finger and told her to mind her own damn business

The lady would have to press changes and then testify in a case. If you win, you could sue her. Therefore, she will probably do nothing.

They can call the police and the police can come and mess with you just for the hell of it. The police can not give you a ticket for something like that.

The woman could press charges herself and have you arrested and have a court date set, etc etc etc. The only problem with that is, you can't press charges on someone you don't know (their name) and it is illegal for the cops to run your tag and give her any information about you. I wouldn't worry about it.

I would for a police department, They can complain, your car will just go on a list, possibly if enough evidence, send you a ticket through the mail. But usually dont. Not much to worry about.

not sure but i dont think you could do anything because if you had a grudge against someone and had their license plate number you could just write it down and claim they did something.

If she's willing to testify, they can have her sign a complaint and take the registered owner of the car to court.

Or, they can send the registered owner a letter indicating that the car was seen doing whatever it was doing.

Hope it wasn't your Dad's car.

she could sue you by this but hey no body aint this stupid to waste money on lawyers like this. If she catch ur license plate by video taping or picturing then **** it gonna be abig problem then. Other wise, no worry dog
