The most important thing when driving is "MIRROR, SIGNAL, MANEUVRE".

So, when you take your driving test, ensure that you look in all of your mirrors at frequent intervals. Never change direction without first checking all of your mirrors, even if you are only going to pull over and stop on the left.

MIRROR
SIGNAL
MANEUVRE

You need to check your rear view mirror about every ten seconds on ordinary roads. Out on the Motorways, check your rear view mirror about every 6 seconds.

Do it!

REMEMBER - MIRROR, SIGNAL, MANEUVRE!

Show good manners and courtesy to other road users. Pay particular attention to cyclists and indicate [right] before passing, giving plenty of room.

Read the HighWayCode the night before and bone up on your weak points. Get someone to ask you what the road signs mean. What is a solid red disc with a white horizontal line running through it? NO ENTRY.

The links below will get you to the HighWayCode

Do not be nervous, we've all been there.

GOOD LUCK - I KNOW YOU'LL PASS FIRST TIME.

BE POSITIVE.

Don't panic and stay cool. Do not rush and concentrate on doing everything right. Remember it is for a very short period of time.

You need to develop your road rage - work on some swearing and hand gestures, oh sorry that's once you have passed...

Good luck!

Stay on the road and don't jump any traffic lights.
To be more serious, what I did was go into the test with the frame of mind of knowing I was going to enjoy the driving experience. I just treated it like another driving lesson (which I always enjoyed), and I told myself that if I failed this one I'd most probably pass the next.
It worked: I passed 1st time.

I passed first time, you need to stay calm and in control, if you make a mistake, don't worry, just as long as you can correct it safely, ie if you stall, put the handbrake on, and start the car again.

they are there to make sure you are safe to go on the road with other users. and not fall apart at the first problem you come accross.

drive with different people, and find out your bad points and keep practicing till you get it right.
I spent a whole weekend just taking the wife around roundabouts till she got the hang of it.

the more you drive the essayer it gets..

good luck.

Many people take their driving test when they are not sufficiently prepared, or haven’t practiced enough, or haven’t practiced the right way. Others get very nervous because they don’t know what to expect. Remember, the DMV examiner will ride with you only to make sure that you can drive safely and obey traffic laws.

Stay calm. Do every slowly and smoothly.

I've failed 3 times now.

My drivings bang on, I just can't do the test.

The people testing you want you to pass, but you have to prove that you can drive the car safely.

Best advice I can give apart from above, is observation, its the most important thing.
