You want snappy? Try this - alcohol is a drug. It affects the mind and the body. The effects wear off over time, yet it is addictive. In moderation, it is a pleasant beverage at meal time. It is available OTC with only the buyer's age as a restriction. Taken in large doses over time, it will destroy the liver; in massive doses, it will kill from poisoning.
It all comes down to discipline and judgment - knowing when to quit for the day and knowing not to even try to drive. Since alcohol messes with the mind, chances are that the drinker is not going to pay attention to the intellect. |

You need waaaayyy more details there snappy man! Every province/state has it's own guidelines and regulations. Google is good, your Insurance companies have lotsa info too, the police would probably know a thing or two about the laws as well.
Nutshell though to ease your mind: If you are drinking, you don't drive. If BAC is over legal limit you are in trouble! Refuse breathalyzer and you will be charged the same as if you were impaired. Lose car/ lose license for a year or so. License fees go up BIG time if charged as Impaired Driving and you get about 3-5 years probation. |
