Did you talk to this person that hit you or was it a hit and run?
Do you have insurance?

If all you have is his license plate number, you are going to have to call the police to try to figure out who this person is. They need to be cited, and you will need their insurance information to pay for your car and medical damages.

By all means get medical attention,they will get the guy that ran if he has insurance all bills should be paid by his insurance. If not you may have a lot of trouble paying for your damage on car unless you have uninsured motorist coverage. If the person has no real property to file a lein against collecting for medical will be difficult unless your insurance coverage provides for that. You could try a lawsuit but again if he has no real property and money it will be hard to collect anything.

You did the first thing which was report to the police the accident. The second thing you should have done is notify your insurance company. Explain exactly what happened and get the ball rolling on possibly repairing your own car. It may take the police time to find the driver and there is no guarantee that the driver has insurance. ( This is assuming you have collision coverage on your car). Ask your insurance company what they need from you to proceed. Most likely they will need a copy of police report. It's a good idea to get one for yourself too for your records. Make sure you see a Doctor about your injuries so they are documented. Follow up with the police to see if they have contacted the other driver and if charges have been filed. Keep the insurance company abreast of any developments. You may consider contacting a lawyer and get apprised of your legal options to recoup financial loss for pain and suffering, lost wages, and out of pocket expenses concerning the damage to your car.

Well, by leaving the scene of an accident, he
committed a crime. You should let the police
track him down, arrest him, etc.

Your insurance company will pay for your
repairs and health care (minus your deductible).
If/when the police find the other driver, your
insurance company will go after their
insurance company or them personally to get
their money back (the money that they paid
you for your health care). You don't have to
worry about that, however.

And if they never find the bad guy, well, you
still have your health care.

If you were driving uninsured, you are out of
luck. You might be able to personally sue the
other driver when you find them, but you should
expect to spend a long long time without being
reimbursed.

Talk to your insurance company. They deal with this all the time. They will probably tell you to take your car (if driveable) to the shop of your choice and get it fixed. Or they will make arrangments to have it towed. Depending on your policy , you may be allowed several days worth of rental car. ( If so don't use it up before you have to)
The insurance company will send an adjuster to check on the condition of the car and you. There will be lots of paperwork to go through, but your insurance company will go after his insurance company and you don't have to worry. If you are hurt, they would like to settle early before the medical costs go through the roof. Be careful about signing any papers that say you have no further claim until you are satisfied that you and your car are OK

Absolutely get medical attention and report the accident to your insurance company. Hit & Run is a crime. Your vehicle repairs and medical receipts, wage loss and possibly money for pain & suffering should be paid by the other motorist's insurance policy or by your underinsured motorist's protection. Don't wait to report this to your insurance company!!! They may not cover you if you wait too long. Be sure that you have your police file number as well. Good luck to you!

You need to contact you insurance company ( I hope you have insurance, especially un insured motorist coverage, you may need it ) and ask them what you should do. If they are of no help - contact one of those injury attorneys that you see advertising all the time.

Contact your insurance company ASAP. I was involved in an accident in december with an uninsured driver who wasn't even driving her own car. Accidents follow the car owner not the driver. So if you have just the license plate, the insurance can search that way. In my case, they found the owner, and they paid for my deductible. I was not injured in the accident, so you will need to find out from your insurance what your policy covers etc.

Press charges, get an attorney of necessary. The other driver owes you for your injuries and damage.

You need to go the emergency room at once, and make sure that criminal charges are files on that guy that fled the scene. Police are not going to do this. My aunt and uncle were nearly killed by a drunk that fled the scen and he was never prosceuted. You need to take action now and get a paper trail going. You're going to be in the fight of your life. I'm really sorry about what happened.

Yes I would definitely go to the emergency room if you are in pain. Even if the police don't catch who hit you, your insurance will cover everything. Just make sure you have Uninsured Motorist insurance. Most people do now a days because not everyone carrys insurance or can't afford to. Just call up your insurance and report the incident to them, and ask them if you have uninsured motorist insurance, if so, your completely covered, medical and your vehicle repair. You must go to either the emergency room to be seen or your personal physician within 24 hours in order for it to be covered by any insurance company. notify your insurance company as you may have encountered a driver with no insurance. If you have uninsured motorist coverage whether you have liability or full coverage you are covered within the limits of your policy. The down side is that depending on your history of claims, your insurance rates my go up.

if u got lic # police should be able to locate owner of car unless its stolen and tag was changed go to doctor asap file with ur insurance they find and sue for their money back good luck hope this helps
