You have not included any indication about why your airbag should have deployed. Some accidents will deploy the airbag, and some will not. There are a lot of factors, and the most common one is that there was probably not enough of an impact to set off any of the airbags or other associated restraint devices that sacrifice themselves in a collision.

Simply getting into an accident does not guarantee that it will involve airbag deployment.

There was some good information in another answer about doing some research on your car. If the SRS light was working prior to the accident, then the system was functional and probably still is. The SRS light should come on before you start the car, and shut off shortly afterwards.

If you bought the car used, it's possible that the car was involved in a previous accident. If the air bag deployed then, it should have been replaced. Reader's Digest or Consumer Reports (I can't remember for sure) had an article that indicated that repair shops just stuff a used bag into the cavity to make it look good. When you start your car, your air bag light should flash several times during a self test. If it doesn't, the air bag system has been bypassed. Almost no driver knows that little point and car dealers know that.

Time to do an investigation into the person who sold you the car and get a car history report. Carfax won't necessarily have the info on a minor accident unless a police report was submitted and only if they have the info in their database. Their database is not necessarily current or accurate as they claim it to be.

what kind of a collision was it? were you going fast enough to actually make it deploy? call your insurance agent and/or take it to a mazda dealer to see if the airbag is faulty. Sue only as a last resort. These Sue happy people on here should be hung for the destruction of America.

they don't deploy in every type of accident.

definitely contact the car manufacturer. is your insurance handling the claim? are they aware as well? it could definitely be seen as a manufacturer defect in the vehicle. i would start by contacting the manufacturer and if they are unwilling to help resolve the matter then you should contact an attorney. some questions to ask would, investigation of the faulty system, service to the system. are you hurt? if so reimbursment for medical claims. i hope this helps you find a place to start.. oh. and document everything

ok we have some rediculious answers here, what you have to do is have your bumper sensor checked, only then will the airbag module send out the airbag.

If you had a frontal accident then you would need to contact the manufacturer but if it was a side or rear accident then nothing because they are not designed to deploy in those situations.......

sue the car company.
there is no reason for it not to come out!
