If I dont subscribe to Onstar anymore but I get in an accident can I still press the ER button for help?

I cant afford my OnStar anymore so Im wondering if I happen to get into a serious accident and cant reach my cell, if I push the emergency button for Onstar to assist, will they help? What will they say...sorry you need to renew your subscription!! They have to call for help for me don't they???

nothing will happen. you are no longer connected to the onstar network. when you press that button nothing happens

No. You will not be able to get help, and they will not respond to your call. You see, if you do not subscribe to Onstar or begin paying the monthly fees, then your subscription is null and void. What that means is that it doesn't exist until you renew your membership. Basically its like an electric bill. If you do not pay your electric bill then you will not be able to utilize the electricity until you do. Onstar is a service. They make money off of your payments. So just like the electric bill, you cannot use the Onstar service until you have paid the money to renew. It will do nothing for you until you do.
