Here is what I don't understand, why MUST people have the phone IN THEIR HAND AND UP TO THEIR EAR when driving? Don't practically ALL cell phones have a "speaker" feature? I know it is low tech, but I simply open my phone wedge it between the sun shield and the top of the car, another way I do this; when I am at work, at least 4/5 days I wear a shirt with a pocket, I simply put the phone on speaker, and stuff it in my shirt pocket... speaker end up. There is NOTHING costly about doing it this way and both hands and eyes are focused on the ROAD. These are very simple solutions to a very serious problem, with all this in place, why do people still feel the need to speak on the phone as they do at home? P.S. in my state, the fine is $250 for being on the phone when driving, I think I'd rather have the $250.Thanks in advance.

If you sound like you are a million miles away on speaker, then you need a new fone :-)

i drive for a living i use phone to get to places where i need to go many times i pull to side of road and i never dial numbers while driving.. your so right its just not smart i make my calls short and pull over when i can to use mine but i like my life and my car |

Unless one is 'first responder' - fire, police, medical, gas - the phone should be turned OFF. There is no conversation in the world that any driver should have on the phone while driving. That's why there is voice mail. If I absolutely have to talk while on the road, then someone else should do the driving, freeing me to talk, make notes, whatever. Driving is a chore that does not allow multi-tasking. |

I think a lot of people don't even think about the speaker phone function on there phones or just don't care for it because it makes the person sound like they are a million miles away. I know in Downtown Chicago if you use a cell phone while driving and you aren't using a hands free device you can be pulled over and ticketed. |
