Yes you can be pulled over & the driver issued a citation for having a passenger with no seat belt on.
Most major auto parts stores & all car dealerships sell seat belt extenders that are made for this purpose. |

The answer is yes she would receive a citation. Also, there's this: every manufacturer that sells cars in the U.S. has what is called a "goodwill safety program". Probably the best kept secret in the biz. Any dealer with a parts dept will issue a set (2) seat belt extensions to every car owner free of charge. These extensions are certified to meet or exceed the original seat belt standards. You must go to the dealer of that particular vehicle. All the other people that say "have her lose weight" ?? how arrogant and judgmental is that?? You don't know whats going on with her... she may have a thyroid or hormone issue. Please think before you go shooting your mouth off.. |

Seatbelts typically stretch pretty dang far. If she's still having trouble fitting into it, I suggest going to some car store and getting a replacement.
It's too dangerous to risk not wearing one. And yes, I think she could still get in trouble for not buckling up. Being overweight does not exempt you from the law. |

You would get a ticket. There are some extensions that you can buy probably at any auto parts store. |

I think you can order an extender for seat belts. Yes, you probably would still get a ticket unless the cop is really sensitive and gives you a warning instead. But try googling "seatbelt extender" and tell your friend it would probably good to buy one. |

Wearing a seat belt is law. Regardless of size, you can still get a ticket. HOWEVER depending on what you are pulled over for, the PO might be nice and let it go, BUT if you specifically get pulled over by a PO patrolling for non seat belt wearers, then you are kinda stuck. They do sell waste belts that you can install to replace the full over the shoulder deal. Installing a belt is not hard. It is a few bolts. |

There are seat belt extensions that are sold at most stores that sell automotive parts and supplies.
She should carry one in her purse if she plans to continue to ride in cars that have seatbelts that are too short.
Depending on the state, if she is an adult, SHE will get the citiation, not the driver. However, if you care for your friend at all, you should not put her life at risk by letting her ride in the car with you without being buckled up.
You want to be a good friend. Shop around by phone and find out which stores sell the extensions and find out the price. Then, when you talk to her, you can give her the information she needs to get one. |

yes you can if you go to the dealership they can give you a seat belt extender so he/she can wear their seat belt. |

If you go to auto shops or Target or somewhere there are seat-belt extensions. Also, if you get pulled over by a cop, most likely they'll say something about where they sell seat-belt extensions and just give you a warning. But try not to get pulled over by a cop, because there are the occasional cops who wont be so nice. |

Any Automobile Dealer can order a seat belt extension for her. And, yes; she can be ticketed if she is not properly restrained without a medical release form from her Doctor. |

It is possible, I believe, to purchase a seat belt extender. If you go to the dealer of your make of car and talk to the parts department, explain that your friend has a special need they might be able to come up with something to help. |

If the car seat belt doesn't fit you then you're in serious trouble - in terms of health! Tell her she needs to lose weight, or she's going to die prematurely. The police are the least of her problems... |

You can get extensions for seat belts ad I don't think the police car can do anything to you. It would have to be a pretty nat police offficer to do that and their boss found out they would get the sack so there is no need to worry. |
