Of course it's your fault. Who else's fault would it be that you drove your car into another car.

If it was a child standing on the white line or an old man in a wheel chair sitting on the white line and you hit them, who's fault would it be?

its your fault you hit a parked car the lines have nothing to do with it. He may have had to park that way because of the car next to him<

Take pictures of where the other car was. They will blame you, because you did the hitting, but you can appeal itv and you will have your say as to why it happened. I did it and I won my case.

I would think that it is their fault. The thing about parking is there are some drivers who are inconsiderate of others space. If you hit someone's car because it is on the line of the parking space that means they were too close to begin with. Now what you can do is if this person has decided to press charges or have your insurance pay, you can take this to court and explain your side. It was their fault since the spot was being taken by their vehicle. All drivers should ensure there is enough space to park, and if they don't then an accident is on them. Also taking pictures of the scene is critical. If you go to court, you need to have evidence to show how close they really were. Without pictures, all you have is your word which may or may not be enough. But if you are not found guilty their insurance must pay for damages not yours.

I would say it'll be their fault. Parking space lines are there for a reason and people should park properly. Pictures would help. But you should have backed straight up and made sure your front bumper cleared his car before turning. For this reason, the insurance companies may call it a 50/50 at fault.

You have nothing to lose in fighting this. Explain to your insurance company the car was on the line and they'll probably use that as an excuse not to pay. You wouldn't want your insurance company paying because if they do, they might raise your rates. And how much they raise your rates depends on how much damage was done. And BTW, was there any damage to your car?
