Police have radios and call for more police. In a few minutes you would have all kinds of police on your tail.
I've seen it happen.

Wrong. You both have a ticket coming, so you had better both stop. If one does and one doesn't the officer gets on the radio with the description, plate, and direction of travel of the one that didn't stop, and that one gets additional charges when the next one stops you.
You can bet that he has already put out over the radio that there are two vehicles (with description) racing on (route and direction) and that he is about to light you up, so the rest of the cars on patrol are ready to come help when needed. |

Pull one of you over that's closest, and then call for backup for which ever one kept going. Therefore, you both would be caught! |

Either way he has a camera on his dashboard and will call for another car to get you further down the raod. This is extremely dangerous to other cars and pedestrians. The police officer would pull BOTH of you over. If a police officer waves you to the side of the road, it is your legal responsibility to do so.
If you choose to ignore the police officer's legal order, then you are breaking several other laws. If you and your friend decide to try to evade the police, then one of you will probably get away.
At least if there's no other police within radio range.
If the policeman gets your license number, then you're hosed. With that, you can be arrested hours or days later for racing. The police just have to determine who was driving. If nobody admits to it, then the owner of the vehicle will be charged.

You're better off being the one who stops, if you continue to run and are caught, you go to jail for evading arrest in addition to speeding and racing. They're all separate charges. |

u wont outrun the radio, and as sure as the rain falls, u'll have more than 1 cruiser after u when they radio that there is drag racing in progress. when they pull both of u over, both of u will be up on reckless op, drag racing, speeding, and since u didnt immediately stop, they will tack on fleeing and eluding. u wont be just getting a ticket and released, u will be in the back seat, the cars up on tow trucks, and u'll be in jail until court arraingment....did i also mention the cars will be impounded? by the time the court gets thru with u, u wont have a license for awhile. in ohio, fleeing and eluding will earn u an immediate license suspension for at least 90 days.
trying to outrun the cops is a guarenteed way of gettin a beat down when they get u stopped.....and they will get u stopped 1 way or another. the highway patrol has a variety of 'weapons' at their disposal to get a runner. spike sticks is 1 of them. if u so much as scratch their paint, u will answer for it. how does vehicular assault on a police officer sound? this will earn u a felony charge in itself.
he who runs will wind up without a license for a loooooong time after he gets out of prison. |

If you are both breaking the law, you should both stop. Radio is faster than any car and if another officer catches the one who runs, that driver will be arrested for eluding, endangerment, possible assault, or if there is an accident - injury or manslaughter if there is a death.
Beyond that, many communities have off-highway legal drag strips you can go race on. Take it off the road. |

"faith" has given you the best answer. If he cannot pull both of you over, he will just pick one, and, if your speeds are reckless enough, he may call for help over the radio for the other car.
I know of people who have tried to get out of a speeding citation by complaining that they weren't the fastest car around, when the office pulled them over. The answer was that it didn't matter. "YOU'RE the one I caught. Sign here!" |

if your on a city street i'm sure the description of the car thats not pulling over will be on the radio within seconds and you won't get far so think twice before you leap modern technology is fast too |

If you don't pull over you could be on a high-speed chase. And if you do pull over you'll get a ticket. But the officer can copy both of your plate numbers and mail you both a ticket.

he would probably pull behind the one that stopped and radio ahead for someone else to stop the one that kept going. he might just get the plate # of the car that stops and chase the one that kept on going. it is possible both of you can get caught so maybe you just shouldn't be out there racing unless its on a track then you wont have to worry about it |

It depends on where your running. Just make sure you run where you are allowed to and you will be fine. If there is a cop and you dont want to run just walk or if it is in the middle of a busy street and you were running there you will probably get in trouble. If it's in a car then why would you be racing anyway unless you were a racer. And if it does happen you will both probably have to get pulled over. If you don't stop he will call backup so they can help get you. I suggest you both stop when he catches you. It's the best thing to do. You will get into bigger trouble if you do not stop when he asks you to. Sorry. |

Before you worry about that I would see the city ordinates and what not. Not all cities allow high speed police chases... So if you both keep going just get out of his site then get somewhere safe and hide out for a bit. |
