i wouldn't recommend a pretty young woman do that. unless you can flag down a nice little old lady or another woman.

If your car breaks down, turn on your emergency blinkers if they work and lock yourself inside until help comes. Help is not some strange man knocking on the window but a police officer who you have called. I know it sounds funny, but you never know what kind of weirdo is going to knock on your window. Dont walk away from your car unless your in danger from being around it.
And doooo not hitchhike. Those scary movies, there really are those freaks out there. And its really hard to find the killer of a person, that was only linked by a car ride. |

Use your commonsense. I hitched with a girlfriend right across Germany without any problems, but I did it by approaching drivers who looked friendly and safe (older couples, mainly) at service areas until I found someone who was going in the right direction who agreed to give us a ride. Better and safer, though, for you to invest in breakdown insurance!

NO... if you have a cell call for some help, most of the time a state trooper will asst. in your dilemma, but now-a-day's stay if yer ride, call and Waite-----AAA is great |

Not only is it illegal, but I personally knew a girl who decided to hitch hike home after she got in a fight with her boyfriend, she was picked up by two thugs who said they'd give her a ride, then they tied her up, took her to an abandoned building, raped her and then pushed foreign objects into her body, then cut off her fingers and toes, then stabbed her to death and threw her body into a creek where it was frozen and found 3 months later after the spring thaw, so I would advise against it. |
