Off the top of my head I believe it's 4 times greater.
edit: yep it is.
20 mph = 6 m
40 mph = 24 m
30 mph = 14 m
60 mph = 55 m |

Take it as a simple rule , if your speed is 20 k/h you need 2 meters distance, if 40 you need 4meters and so on. |

ONE VECHILE LENGTH FOR EVERY TEN MPH AND YOU WONT GO FAR WRONG
if 15 ft motor at 20mph =30ft
at 40 mph=60ft
at70mph=105ft

If you mean as per the Highway Code information, you can check that out easily. On the other hand, much really depends on how alert is the driver, weather conditions, quality of the brakes, the type of car etc etc. As Disraeli has often been quoted, there are lies, damned lies and statistics. |
