This is probably the one violation in Ohio that officers can cite you for without seeing the incident take place. If the bus driver gets your tag, they can provide a written statement that you passed their bus illegally, and you will be given a ticket. They would normally have to testify in court, but it rarely goes that far.
Just be glad you didn't get attacked by an angry parent. You've heard stories about mother grizzlies protecting their cubs, and tearing people's scalps off their heads, and leaving them for dead, right? It's pretty much the same thing... |

Yes you can. If fact, in some states, the school bus driver can report you, and, if he can pass on your license plate number, you can expect a regular traffic citation in the mail.
And the fines are PLENTY big! |

TRUE.... The bus driver is told, if ANYONE passes the bus, before the lights stop flashing, to take down the license information, and contact the police immediately..
Not only will you be cited with a ticket, you'll have to live with your self for the rest of your life, knowing you killed a kid (potentially)...
