Because not everyone is an alcoholic and bars also sell drinks that don't alter your mind and boost your ego.
How ground breaking that is. |

Because you can go to a bar, have a drink or 2 and not be drunk. The notion that once you have a drink you're drunk is ridiculous. |

You are not supposed to drink and drive with a BAC over the legal limit (.08 in most areas in the US). For most people, a drink or two will not put their BAC over the legal limit.
It is advisable to ALWAYS have a designated driver - so even if you only have a drink or two, you would have a completely sober person there who would be responsible for driving (and parking!).
Parking lots at bars are there so that people stopping by for a couple of drinks, or people with designated drivers have a place to park their cars. Many bars also offer "bar food", which can be a huge draw (if its any good) to lunchtime or even dinner crowds - many of those people don't drink at all.
And as one person already pointed out.... the staff needs a place to park their cars as well! |

You're not supposed to drink TOO MUCH. You can have one or two drinks and drive. The trouble is that many people continue to drink to the point where they shouldn't drive.
We all have skills and we all have talent, but we all lack self-discipline.
Yes, the designated driver should also have a space to park. Taxis too, horses and buggies, quads, snowmobiles...........depends where you are I suppose. |

So they can take their friends out to the pub. Their friends can drink and they can drink something none alcoholic. I think you can drink a small amount of alcohol and still drive. I sometimes have half or one drink if I have had a meal. A lot of pubs have restaurants as well. |

Bar staff
I find the only bars that have parking spaces sell food on the premises, so people go for food but don't drink. |

Not everyone drinks to the point of intoxication. Or how about the responsible people who have a designated driver? |

Also, why do some garages sell alcohol , surely if you fill up with petrol you should not drink at the same time because you will have to drive away............. strange !! |

They have a car park for various reasons , If you do drink you can leave it there , if you dont drink you can park there till you leave , staff parking , parking for families .
Just because there is a car park there it does not mean you have to drink and drive . |
