Im 17 years old, live in Ky and got a Reckless driving ticket last night how much will my ticket ?

My husband got a reckless driving ticket in KY when we were 17 or 18. This was 7 or 8 years ago now so I'm sure the fines have changed, but he ended up going to traffic school. It's the same 3 hour course you would have taken to get your license. When you opt to go to traffic school (there's a limit on how many times you can go) -- your ticket which will probably be somewhere between $200 and $300 will drop to $20. Traffic school also erases the points on your license. If you don't switch insurance carriers there is a good chance your insurance won't even see/notice the ticket and your rates won't change. If the ticket is discovered by insurance it will make your rate take a big jump. Being a teenaged boy your rates are probably on the high side anyway. At one point my husband was paying just under $800 a month for insurance -- it was more than his truck payment. I don't remember exactly how that worked, but if your citation doesn't say anything on it about traffic school call the DMV they'll be able to help. You should not need to appear in court.
