As far as I know, there is no stipulation in the law that says it is OK to drive over twice the speed limit, as long as it is 2AM and no one is on the roads.
Expect a big fine, possible loss of license. But the big thing won't happen until after your court date.
Just wait until your insurance company finds out. You will be placed in a high risk bracket. Expect to pay high much higher insurance premiums for the next 5 to 7 years. |

say hello to public transit for a year! at least
apparently someone was on the road (the Police officer who pulled you over!)
and what do you mean you just got the Car back ? why? was it in accident, was it impounded,. stolen?
why were you going so fast in the first place? |

I work for a Justice Court office..and well first of all you know you were speeding..that's a given..so you will have a fine and the amount will depend on where you live..probably pretty high..and insurance will do the same..but if you were in our Court the Judge would probably hold your license for a period of time..order a driving class and a 3 page essay on the importance of my drivers license. It all boils down to what Judge you get and what mood they are in when you go before them..good luck and slow down.. I have a 17 yr old daughter and she wouldn't drive for a while if she did this!! it is too dangerous..people on the road or not you could have had a blow out and lost control of you vehicle and killed yourself!!! think son think!!! |

Don't know about what will happen in court but I know what will happen if you keep driving like that !
You are going to die son !
They should take your license off you and rip it up. |

Well with any luck you may get to keep your license, pay a large fine and LEARN SOMETHING, otherwise you are heading for something like this:::::::

I can not imagine what it would feel like knowing that I killed someone basically just for the fun of it. |

hi there the max penalty for speeding is 3-6 points and a fine of 1,000-2,500 pounds so if you passed less than 2 years ago you could loose you licence but its unlikely they will do that if its your first offence. you usually get 3 points and a light fine the first time. |

Go see the judge. The conversation will go like this:
You are charged with speeding. How do you plead?
Not guilty.
Did you exceed the posted limit at any time?
Yes, but.......
No buts. Pay the bailiff.
NEXT CASE! |

Grow up if your speeding allows you to and you don't kill anyone or yourself. |

well first off...slow down. theres no need to gun your car from ANYWHERE. I have a friend going through the same situation as you. since it was actually his second speeding ticket they limited him to only driving to school, work and home. Ofcourse also his insurance sky rocketed to where he can barely pay it. Hes getting his act together and you should too. think about it man, go at your rate and not drive till your 21, or think about what youll do before doing it. |

You'll probably just have to pay the fine--after all, you WERE speeding! |

This is funny, I did the same thing but I was going 65 in 25mph road on a military base.(government area not good)I got a $359.00 ticket and of course I don’t want the points taken off of my license knowing that I am 18 years old my insurance would go through the roof. Anyways I went to court stayed in a long *** line then I saw the judge. He was cool. The most I could tell you is if the cop is there tell the truth but make the judge feel sorry for you, and be as polite as possible. You should ask for probation that way you just pay for the ticket and no points get taken off your license. If the cop isn’t there, go with the probation or say not guilty, no cop no proof they will dismiss your case.
PS. hope you didn’t have a sports car or close to one because they will be harder on you i had a 240sx. |
