With time you will get a feel for the car and what feels natural. I find that my car struggles if I turn a corner in 3rd gear. It is always best to drop gears when lowering your speed as this will give you more control and safety.

If you slow down appropriately before you reach the corner it will feel natural to drop into 2nd gear. There's nothing more dangerous than speeding around a corner, especaially if it is a blind one!

Good luck with your test, remember confidence is the key x

you are safer to drop to 2nd but it depends on the type of stick you have...you can stop and go out of 1st and 2nd....3rd you will likely stall the car

It's best to drop to second as you will have much more control, especially in wet and icy weather.

On your test if the examiner notices you repeatedly turning corners in 3rd that will be marked down as a minor fault.

If you leave your car in 3rd gear while turning, your car will tend to want to go faster around the corner and you will need more braking to slow down. When you turn, your car will then "lug" and not have enough power to get you going again due to your rpms being too low.
Before turning a corner, check your speed to see that you are slowing down enough. Shifting into second gear before turning a corner will slow your car down also, and once you have turned the corner, you will have high enough rpms, and lots of power to get your speed up again, and then shift back into 3rd gear.

You should always change down to the gear required to keep moving safely and smoothly after the turn. You should also be changing down before you get to the intersection, not right at it.
Remember this sequence of events when approaching an intersection.
Course. Which way are you going.
Mirrors and signals. What is behind you, tell them where you are going.
Brakes. slow down to the speed required.
Gears and mirrors. get into the correct gear, check nothing is too close or about to pass you.
Evasive action. If not safe to proceed at the intersection, don't.
Acceleration. Slowly accelerate through the intersection when safe.

It depends on how fast you're going. I hope you're not going fast enough to be in 3rd gear while you're turning...if you are then you really need to slow down. I almost always drop down to 2nd gear.

Depends on your speed but second would be best....
