Im very scared..help?

im flying on sunday and im very scared! i dont like being on an airplane for 3 hours traveling from jersey to the Caribbean. Im flying at night so will there be less turbulence? im terrified! is flying really the safest way to travel?

Yes, it is a very safe way to travel. Go to your Dr. to get some medication if you want to. He can give you something to relax.

ohhh don't worry, i'm on an airplane 3-4 times a week sometimes!
It's amazing, if your afraid of heights though, please don't sit by the window! haha :)
All you have to do is just sit back, and relax as best you can... if you have an MP3 player or something, bring that and listen to some relaxing music... don't stress yourself out that your going into this big thing and you may never get out, trust me, that NEVER HELPS. Just breath slowly at first and just pretend your on a magic carpet, when you get off, your going to be somewhere different!, isn't that exciting?!
Enjoy your journey! :)
- Happy Holidays.

Really, don't worry about it. Statistically, flying is safer than driving. Since it's at night, the best thing to do would be to bring your iPod/CD player, put on some music, and relax. Maybe try to get some sleep. If you find it hard to relax, try bringing a book of puzzles or something to keep your mind busy. It helps to keep yourself occupied.

Flying is a snap.
Don't sweat it the media has made it all that "dangerous and scary"
it's fine everythingg will go as planned.

My FIRST flight was a 19 passenger commuter plane......Not what I pictured to be my first flight and that scared me...

per person, flying is the safest when compared to driving a similar distance.

Turbulence can happen at any time of the day and yes, consider it a bump in the road like if you were in your car. Some bumps are more severe than others, but that is exactly what it is....a difference in air pressure like a bump is a difference in surface height on the road.

Enjoy it...at night you won't see much of anything except for a few lights, otherwise it will just look black....

bring a handheld game, music or anything to keep your mind occupied.

haha just relaxxxxxxxxx everything will be fine watch a movie or something while you are flying...

Well airplanes are less likely to fall than a car to crash but nothing that moves is safe a car, train, bus, ship, or airplane, When u r in the airplane just relax and they might put a movie and just watch it.

A Girl Who Snowboards
It's the safest way to travel. there is nothing in the air that can interfere with the plane. People are most likely to die on their way to the air port then to die flying. (I really didn't mean to scare you there)

I used to be the same way; and sometimes I still don't care for the turbulence. But, a pilot told me to think of the turbulence as a pothole when you're driving...it's nothing more than that to him when he's behind the controls. I take along some good music, and goofy fashion mags to leaf through, etc. But, flying at night just stick with nice soothing music and rack out!
