In cars with fuel injection, you don't have to warm it up at all.

Just get in and drive.

The best and fastest way to warm everything up is to put it under load. Sitting with the engine idling will only extend the amount of time it takes to get warm up and expose the engine to greater wear. Just take it a bit easy and don't rag it right away.

Latest study says not to warm it up since you don't need to and you will be wasting quite a bit of gas while it is running. It won't cause any harm to your car, just a little "chilly" discomfort to you.

Let it idle a minute so it will not stall and drive slow (not 2 mph) for a few mins and then let her rip>

Depends on how cold it is. All fluids in your car become thicker in cold weather. You dont want to get in your car and gun it when its 20 below, and oil turned into gel. It doesnt have to be warmed up to normal operating temperature but you want to see that water temp arrow starting to rise before you go.

Once it gets below 20 degrees you should let the car warm a minute or so. And if there is some snow, Ice, or frost on the windows, turn on the defrosters and let the car warm to clear the windows before you go.
