Loss of driving privileges, financial punishment in the form of fines and court costs, possible criminal charges for the minor and especially for whoever provided the booze.

Of course, you're in Texas. In the words of the honorable Judge Roy Bean, "Give the b*****d a fair trial and hang him".

In most states when a minor is in possession of alcohol while driving, they will be arrested & face a misdemeanor charge. They will receive a fine, jail time, or both. The fine will be close to $1,000. If it’s the first offense, the judge may not rule jail time….jonly the fine…and possibly community service. Misdemeanors are a crime, and a person who is charged with one could face jail time, but jail time is NOT mandatory. The maximum jail term for a misdemeanor is 1year.
