Is drink driving worse in cities or the country side?

I want my ¡OLD! mtv
They both have certain factors about them that make them both rather dangerous so it's hard to pick one.

In urban areas you'll likely have a dense concentration of bars, pubs and parties that have alcohol which gets a lot of people intoxicated really fast. But the thing is in cities there's likely a lot of taxis and public transportation so the people who are drunk wouldn't be driving but for those drunk people who do drive they'd have more things to crash into but they'd also have a better chance of having someone witnessing the accident and calling 911.

In the countryside there's likely a lot of turns considering roads built into places like that have no choice but to be made with sharp turns and various hazards, both of which drunk drivers commonly can't handle like a sober driver would. But the real problem in the countryside is that the roads are almost deserted at night and if someone crashes they may not be found until hours after the crash happened. I've seen this first-hand from my step sister who was in a crash in February along a really quiet road. The emergency responders said from the engine temperature they estimated that the crash had to have happened at least 15 minutes before they arrived but they couldn't be sure the actual time of the crash. Had that happened in a more remote location she easily could have died but she remains in a coma to this day likely thanks to the quickness with which she was found.

The countryside as they are not as heavily policed.

There are more offenders in the countryside, they almost totally ignore the drink drive laws because of the lack of policing in quiet out of the way places.

However, the results of drink driving are obviously worse in cities where the roads are so much busier and consequently there are more victims.

Wherever it is, the punishment is never strong enough. Offenders should lose their licences for life in addition to any prison sentence.

There's actually a higher percentage of accidents in rural areas, but for sheer numbers it's definitely in the citites.

I have a feeling they are more or less the same, maybe cities because of more people, but you are more likely to kill yourself on a country road.

Country life, its easier for everything!

i think cities as there are more turns and more cars about so you are more likely to cause damage.

Life in the country without your own transport would be intolerable. I live 2 miles from the nearest shops ie local amenities. The weekly shop involves a 25 mile round trip. Believe me we value our licences in the country and would do nothing to jepordise it.
The Police may be few and far between but are wise to the comings and goings of the residents, so believe me we don`t take chances.

drunk driving is BAD in any case, and just because of majority opinion youshould not go driving while drunk....
to return to your question, drunk driving in a city enbles you (?!) to cause more damage becouse of the small distance between any & everything, so in addition to being hurt yourself, you hurt a lot of other people & their property.
whereas in the countryside, du to the low density of any valuble property (apart from tree & local fauna), the only person to whom the damage is limited is more often than not you..

there will be more people in the cities as there are more heavily populated but the percentage or people is probably higher in the countryside

worse in the villages, where people think they can get away with it more

Worse as in frequently, or worse as in quality? I was going to say that it's worse in the cities because there is a higher chance of multiple fatalities than the country side....

Worse in the countryside..les enforcment and more drinking leads to more accidents.
While in the city you are too busy looking over your shoulder and tend to be more observant.

Drink driving is terrible anywhere, i drunk drove a few years ago, i didnt know what i was doing and my sober friends gave me my keys and told me to go home. I smashed my car up and four others and ended up in hospital for a week. I had never done it before and will never do again. I am so ashamed i may have killed someone or myself. It may be an inconvenience not to drive when drinking but it should be avoided. People die from people who drink and drive, its so sad

a drink problem is the same whether your in the city or the countryside. most people who drink drive have a drink problem so there's your answer.

bigpinkpantiez
Hmm, i'd say both because you're either going to run other humans or animals, and both is bad!
